Cool History, Cool Future.

Like the phoenix that perches on the corner (an artifact from its original resident) the Otto Milk Building is set to rise again.

In 1865, Joseph Spencer built the building to house his growing Phoenix Brewery. 45 years later, Phoenix was one of several breweries that formed the Pittsburgh Brewing Co. Next, it became home to the Otto Milk Company, a family owned factory that delivered milk to the front porches of Western PA in the 1950’s. It had several other tenants and then sat vacant for several decades. When developer Jack Benoff purchased the property in 2007, much of the original Otto Milk equipment was still inside. Now the distinctive tower will have a new life, as home to 56 units located in the heart of the Strip
